At Gloria Dei, we also celebrate children growing in faith. At different steps or stages, we take time out to mark and give thanks for this growth. These are also opportunities to help parents to begin preparing to lead their children through the next stages of faith development. At each milestone – baptismal promises are remembered and celebrated. Often, there are opportunities for special classes and blessings during the worship service.
These include: Holy Baptism, Blessing of the Backpacks (Start of a New School Year), First Bibles (Students receive Sunday School Bible in 3rd Grade), First Communion (Preparation and Celebration for 2nd Grade Students, Beginning Confirmation (Blessing for students and families entering confirmation ministry), Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation Ministry and Service), Graduation and Sending for college, work or military
All people are welcome into the family of God. At Gloria Dei, the journey of baptism begins with an information and teaching session about Lutheran practices and understanding of baptism. It is an opportunity to learn about the wonderful gift of baptism. Once individuals or parents have attended worship services and completed the seminar, a date for the baptism can be set. Contact the church office for more information.

It also invites the care and support of the community gathered to celebrate the marriage. Contact the church office for more information. A meeting with the pastor is required before scheduling.
Christian Funeral and Memorial Services offer us a way to commend our loved ones into God’s eternal care and light.
